Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC)

Introduction

An Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC) was set up in the college to periodically review and assess the various quality standards, procedures, practices, and outcomes implemented by the institute. The cell provides the necessary oversight in its quest to create a learner-centric environment that includes mentored and collaborative participation by stakeholders. The cell designed a focused course of action that addresses well-defined issues directly related to improving student learning.

Objectives

  1. To create a framework for deliberate, consistent, and catalytic action to enhance the institution’s academic and managerial performance.
  2. To encourage actions that will improve institutional performance by internalizing a quality culture and involving institutional best practices.

Functions

Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution.

Research sharing and networking with other academic and non-academic institutions.

Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.

Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents, and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.

Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops and seminars on quality-related themes and promotion of quality circles.

Acting as a nodal agency of the institution for coordinating quality-related activities.

Development of quality culture in the institution.

Periodical conduct of Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA) and its follow-up.

Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC.

Composition

The IQAC cell functioned under the chairmanship of the head of the institution with heads of important academic and administrative units, faculty members, distinguished educationists, representatives, external expert alumni representative, and student representative of the local committee.
